Biography
Eddie Bracken (born Edward Vincent Bracken) was an American actor. He was born on 7 February 1915 in Astoria, Queens, New York City, and died on 14 November 2002.
Bracken performed in vaudeville from the age of nine and gained early success on Broadway in the musical Too Many Girls (1940), which he reprised on film. He appeared in lead roles in the 1944 films Hail the Conquering Hero and The Miracle of Morgan's Creek, both later preserved by the National Film Registry. His later film roles included Roy Walley in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), Mr Duncan in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), Bob Carson in Rookie of the Year (1993) and appearances in Oscar (1991) and Baby's Day Out (1994). He also had television roles in series including Murder, She Wrote and The Golden Girls.
