Biography
Eddie Constantine was an American actor and singer who spent much of his career in Europe, particularly France. He became known for portraying the secret agent Lemmy Caution in a series of French B-movies from the 1950s and 1960s.
He appeared in films by directors including Jean-Luc Godard, playing Lemmy Caution in Alphaville (1965) and reprising the role in Germany Year 90 Nine Zero (1991). Other credits include Beware of a Holy Whore (1971) for Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Cléo from 5 to 7 (1962) and Europa (1991). In 1980 he played Charlie in the British film The Long Good Friday.
