Biography
Edy Debray, also credited as Eddy Debray, was a French actor. He was born on 19 December 1880 in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, and died on 14 April 1974 in Beaumont-les-Autels, Eure-et-Loir.
Debray appeared in supporting roles in several French films of the 1930s and 1950s. He played Corneille, the majordome, in Jean Renoir's The Rules of the Game (1939). Other credits include an uncredited role as Captain in Max Ophüls's Lola Montès (1955) and a voice role as Badger in The Tale of the Fox (1937).
Earlier in his career, he was a leading actor at the Théâtre des Arts in Rouen, where he played Arsène Lupin and the Duke of Charmerace in a 1909–1910 production of Maurice Leblanc and Francis de Croisset's play.
