Biography
Eduardo Sacheri is an Argentine writer and historian. Born in Castelar in 1967, he graduated in history from the National University of Luján and teaches at secondary schools in the Buenos Aires suburbs. He began writing short stories in the mid-1990s, many with football themes, several of which were published in collections.
Sacheri’s debut novel La pregunta de sus ojos (2005) was adapted into the 2009 film The Secret in Their Eyes, directed by Juan José Campanella, for which Sacheri co-wrote the screenplay. The film won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He collaborated again with Campanella on the screenplay for the animated film Underdogs (2013). His novel La noche de la usina (2016) was adapted as Heroic Losers (2019).
