Biography
Edward Dillon was an American actor, film director and screenwriter of the silent era. Born in New York City, he began his career on Broadway in the early 1900s before moving to films around 1908, where he worked under D. W. Griffith at Biograph.
He appeared in more than 320 films between 1905 and 1932, including Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916) and The Lonedale Operator (1911). His later screen roles included an uncredited appearance as a stage manager in The Broadway Melody (1929). Dillon also directed 134 productions between 1913 and 1926.
He died on 11 July 1933 in Hollywood, California. His brother, John T. Dillon, was also an actor.
