Biography
Edward Nugent was an American actor. Born Edward James Nugent on 7 February 1904 in New York City, he appeared in around 80 films between 1928 and 1937, often in supporting roles. He is credited as Terry in the musical 42nd Street (1933) and as Eagan in Night Nurse (1931).
As a child, Nugent sang with the Metropolitan Opera. He performed in vaudeville and on radio before his film career. He later worked on Broadway, with credits including See My Lawyer (1939), Brooklyn USA (1941) and Junior Miss (1942). He subsequently worked as a television producer, writer and director.
