Biography
Edward Pomerantz is a screenwriter, playwright, novelist and teacher. He wrote two episodes of the series Law & Order (1992–1993). His screenplay for the 1996 film Caught, adapted from his own novel Into It, was released by Sony Pictures Classics and nominated for three Independent Spirit Awards.
Pomerantz has written for other television series including Here's Boomer (1980–1981) and As the World Turns (1995). He is the recipient of two Writers Guild Awards. His plays have been staged in New York and elsewhere, including Brisburial. He has held two Fulbright Specialist grants and has taught screenwriting and playwriting at SUNY-Purchase for over twenty years. He founded and directs the Harlem Dramatic Writing Workshop.
