Biography
Edward Tivnan is a writer and producer whose television credits include episodes of Miami Vice (1987), 20/20 (1978), New York Undercover (1998), Renegade, The Cosby Mysteries and Doc (2001). He also worked as supervising producer on New York Undercover.
Tivnan studied at the University of Toronto and graduated from Amherst College in 1967. He studied Ancient History and Philosophy at Oxford's Trinity College before completing a Ph.D. in philosophy at Princeton in 1973. He began his career as a reporter and staff writer at Time magazine, later becoming the first writer for ABC's 20/20 in 1978 before moving into freelance television and print work.
His other credits include co-producing BBC documentaries and writing the book The Lobby: Jewish Political Power and American Foreign Policy (1987).
