Biography
Edward Watts is an English documentary filmmaker. He is best known for co-directing For Sama (2019) with Waad Al-Kateab. His other credits include the documentaries Escape From ISIS (2015) and The Mega Brothel (2015), as well as numerous television films and series for Channel 4 and ITN Productions.
Watts has received several awards for For Sama, including the L'Œil d'or at the Cannes Film Festival and the BAFTA Award for Best Documentary; the film was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. He is an Emmy award winner and has directed over twenty narrative and documentary films.
