Biography
Edward Williams (1921–2013) was a British composer and electronic music pioneer. He composed the score for the BBC natural history series Life on Earth (1979), using a chamber orchestra combined with VCS 3 synthesiser processing, and created the ultrasonic movement-to-MIDI system Soundbeam.
His documentary scores included the Oscar-winning films Dylan Thomas (1961) and Wild Wings (1965). He also worked on numerous British Transport Films shorts and later series such as Nature (1982).
