Biography
Edwin Lee Gibson is an American actor. He grew up in the South Park neighbourhood of Houston, Texas, and began performing professionally at the age of 16 in a production of The Wiz. He studied at Texas Southern University and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Empire State University in 2012 and a Master of Fine Arts from Point Park University.
A veteran of the stage, Gibson has appeared in over 100 professional theatre productions and received an Obie Award in 2006 for his performance in The Seven. His screen credits include guest roles in Law & Order (2010), Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2014), Fargo (2020) and Mom and Dad (2017). He has recurred as Ebraheim in the FX series The Bear since 2022 and appeared as Bill Russell in Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (2022–2023). With the The Bear ensemble, he won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2024.
