Biography
Elena Karam (1909–2001) was an American actress. Born on 27 February 1909, she appeared in films and on television from the 1960s onwards, as well as in several Broadway productions.
Her film roles include Vasso Topouzoglou in America America (1963), The Woman in Love with the Proper Stranger (1963), Nurse Frances Eagen in Up the Down Staircase (1967), Mrs. Zarinkas in F.I.S.T. (1978), and Aunt Angeline in an episode of the television series Kojak (1977). She also performed on Broadway in plays including Men in White (1933), Haiti (1938) and Sweet Bird of Youth (1975–1976).
Karam was married to John Wiley Hill from 1948 until his death in 1977. She died on 30 March 2001 in San Francisco, California.
