Biography
Eli Despres is a film and television editor and writer. He edited and co-wrote the documentary Blackfish (2013). He also edited Weiner (2016) and Red Army (2015).
Despres co-wrote and edited Weiner with Josh Kriegman and Elyse Steinberg. With the same collaborators he created and directed the Showtime series Couples Therapy, and co-directed and produced the documentary The Fight (2020). His other editing credits include They Call Us Monsters (PBS) and the Emmy-winning series Exposé (PBS). He directed the feature Wilderness Survival for Girls (2004).
Despres is a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) and has been nominated twice for the ACE Documentary award. He is a co-founder of Edgeline Films.
