Biography
Eliane Umuhire is a French-Rwandan actress. Born in Kigali, Rwanda in 1986, she studied accounting at the National University of Rwanda and later trained in acting at Mashirika Performing Arts and Media Company and Ishyo Arts Center.
She is known for her role as Claudine Mugambira in the 2017 Polish film Birds Are Singing in Kigali, which brought her multiple Best Actress awards including the Silver Hugo at the Chicago International Film Festival. Other film credits include Annick in Trees of Peace (2021), Memory in Neptune Frost (2021), Hermès in Planet B (2024) and Zena in A Quiet Place: Day One (2024). She has also appeared in television series including De Grâce (2023–2024).
