Biography
Elie Smolkin is a cinematographer whose credits include the HBO series Task (2025), on which he served as director of photography for three episodes. He has also worked as director of photography on The Offer (2022), The Consultant (2023), American Sports Story (2024) and The Comeback (2005–2026), as well as the features The Final Girls (2015), The Mortuary Collection (2020) and Tarot (2024).
Raised in Vancouver and Chicago, Smolkin began taking photographs at the age of nine. He is a member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers and has directed one episode of the series The Magicians (2019). He is based in Los Angeles.
