Biography
Elizabeth Alexander, also credited as Liz Alexander, is an Australian actress, director and teacher. Born in Adelaide, South Australia, she attended All Hallows' School in Brisbane and graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1973.
Her acting career began with a role in the series Bellbird (1967). After NIDA she played Esther Wolcott in the ABC series Seven Little Australians (1973), for which she received a Logie Award for Best New Talent. Film credits include Summerfield (1977) as Jenny Abbott, The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith (1978) as Petra Graf, The Killing of Angel Street (1981) and Blueback (2022) as Older Dora. Television work includes Farscape (1999) as Vella, Salem's Lot (2004) as Ann Norton, The Lost World (1999) as Mrs Krux and Home and Away (1988). She has also directed plays and written screenplays, including the short film Memento, and has taught dramatic arts at Queenwood School for Girls.
