Biography
Elizabeth Ito is an American director, writer and storyboard artist. She was born on 23 June 1979 in Los Angeles, California, and studied character animation at the California Institute of the Arts.
She began her career working on series including Phineas and Ferb (2007), where she contributed as a writer and storyboard artist, and Adventure Time (2010), initially as a storyboard artist and writer before becoming supervising director on 53 episodes from 2013 to 2017. She created the short Welcome to My Life (2015) and the Netflix series City of Ghosts (2021), on which she served as creator, writer, director and executive producer.
Ito has also worked as a storyboard or story artist on feature films such as Astro Boy (2009), The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water (2015) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (2013). She received an Emmy Award for her directing work on Adventure Time.
