Biography
Elizabeth MacRae was an American actress. Born Elizabeth Hendon MacRae on 22 February 1936 in Columbia, South Carolina, she grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and trained as an actor in New York City, studying with Uta Hagen at the Herbert Berghof Studio.
She appeared in numerous television series from the late 1950s, including recurring roles as Lou-Ann Poovie on Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. (1966–1969) and guest parts on Gunsmoke, The Andy Griffith Show, Kojak, Mannix and The Fugitive. Her film credits include a voice role in The Incredible Mr. Limpet (1964) and the part of Meredith in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation (1974).
MacRae died on 27 May 2024 in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
