Biography
Elizabeth Reinhardt, also credited as Betty Reinhardt, was an American screenwriter and television writer. Born Mariam Elizabeth Neely on 21 March 1909 in Ohio, she graduated from DePauw University and began her career writing Spanish-language films in the 1930s before contributing to English-language productions.
She is known for her work on Laura (1944), for which she shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, and Cluny Brown (1946). Other credits include His Butler's Sister (1943), Sentimental Journey (1946) and Give My Regards to Broadway (1948). She was married to film director John Reinhardt and later wrote for television before her death on 21 January 1954 in Los Angeles.
