Biography
Ella Road is a British screenwriter, playwright and actor. She studied English at Somerville College, Oxford, and completed a postgraduate acting course at the Oxford School of Drama. She began writing plays after her acting training.
Her debut play The Phlebotomist premiered at Hampstead Theatre in 2018 and transferred to the main stage in 2019; it received an Olivier Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. On television she has written episodes of Ten Percent (2022), co-written a 2022 Doctor Who episode with Chris Chibnall, and co-written the Black Mirror episode 'Eulogy' (2025) with Charlie Brooker.
