Biography
Elle Johnson, also credited early in her career as Lois Johnson, is an American television writer, producer and showrunner. She grew up in Hollis, Queens, and graduated from Harvard University in 1986 with a degree in art history.
Her credits include writing for Homicide: Life on the Street, CSI: Miami (2002), Law & Order (2004–2005), Ghost Whisperer (2005), The Glades (2010), The Fosters (2013) and Bosch (2015). She served as executive producer and co-showrunner on the Netflix miniseries Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker (2020), which won a NAACP Image Award. Johnson has also written the memoir The Officer's Daughter (2021).
