Biography

Ellen Gittelsohn is an American television director. Born on 12 April 1945 in New York City, she has also been credited as Ellen Falcon and Ellen Chaset Baxter. She began her career in production roles before directing episodes of sitcoms from the early 1980s.

Her credits include multiple episodes of Roseanne, Living Single, Half & Half, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Reba. She directed one episode of Friends in 1995. In 1984 she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for Buffalo Bill.

Gittelsohn is married to Gary Gittelsohn and was active as a director until 2013.
