Biography
Ellen Sandler is an American television writer, producer, script consultant and educator. She began her career writing for prime-time series including Taxi (1978), for which she contributed two episodes in 1981, Kate & Allie and Coach.
Sandler served as co-executive producer and writer on the Emmy-winning sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond (1996), contributing to multiple episodes between 1997 and 1999. She has written for more than twenty-five network comedy series and created pilots for several broadcasters. She is also the author of The TV Writer's Workbook (2007) and has taught television writing at UCLA Extension, The New School and other institutions. She founded the consulting firm Sandler Ink.
