Biography
Ellis Marcus was an American television writer whose career spanned four decades. Born in Pittsburgh, he began writing for live television in New York in the late 1940s. He contributed scripts to numerous series, including Highway Patrol, Science Fiction Theatre, Sam Benedict, Ben Casey, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (1964) and four episodes of Mission: Impossible (1966).
With his wife, writer and producer Ann Marcus, he created, wrote and produced the syndicated comedy series The Life and Times of Eddie Roberts (1980). He served as an executive producer at CBS from 1966 to 1977 and later on the board of governors of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Marcus died in Encino, California, in 1990.
