Biography
Elsa Janssen was a German-born American actress. Born on 5 October 1883 in Düsseldorf, Germany, she appeared in Hollywood films from the early 1930s to the late 1940s, often in supporting roles as mothers or European characters, sometimes credited as Else Janssen.
She is known for her performance as Christina 'Mom' Gehrig in The Pride of the Yankees (1942). Other credits include Blonde Venus (1932), Dracula's Daughter (1936), Claudia (1943) and Song of Love (1947). Janssen died on 5 February 1969 in Los Angeles, California.
