Biography

Emile Boreo (1885–1951) was a Polish-born American actor who worked in theatre, vaudeville and film. He achieved success on Broadway in the 1920s in revues including Chauve-Souris and Parade of the Wooden Soldiers, and appeared in other stage productions such as The Fifth Column (1940).

His film roles included Luigi in The Street Singer (1937) and Henry in Carnegie Hall (1947). He is best known for playing the hotel manager Boris in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes (1938). Boreo died in New York City on 27 July 1951.
