Biography

Emily Atef (born 6 May 1973) is a German-born French-Iranian film director and screenwriter. She moved from West Berlin to Los Angeles at the age of seven with her French-Iranian parents, later lived in France, and studied film direction at the Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie Berlin.

Atef is known for her feature films Molly's Way (2005), The Stranger in Me (2008), 3 Days in Quiberon (2018) and More Than Ever (2022). She has also directed television films and episodes, including two episodes of the series Killing Eve (2022) and an episode of Tatort (2019). Her film 3 Days in Quiberon premiered in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival and won seven awards at the German Film Awards.
