Biography
Enrique Acosta was a Mexican-American actor. Born in Mexico City, he emigrated with his family to Los Angeles after 1910 to escape the Mexican Revolution. He appeared in films from the silent era into the 1940s, often in supporting or uncredited roles, and was bilingual in Spanish and English.
His credits include Ramon in Don Q Son of Zorro (1925), Sixto in The Texan (1930), General Calixto García in A Message to Garcia (1936), a guest at Rick's in Casablanca (1942), a tourist in Only Angels Have Wings (1939), and a gambler in Gilda (1946). Many of his parts were as authority figures such as judges, officers or butlers.
Acosta died in Culver City, California, in 1949.
