Biography
Eric Bergren (1954–2016) was an American screenwriter. Born in Pasadena, California, he studied theatre arts at the University of Southern California.
Bergren co-wrote the screenplay for The Elephant Man (1980) with David Lynch and Christopher De Vore, based on works by Frederick Treves and Ashley Montagu. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as nominations for the Golden Globe, BAFTA and Writers Guild of America awards. He also co-wrote Frances (1982) with De Vore and Nicholas Kazan. His other credits include the screenplay for The Dark Wind (1991) and the teleplay for the television film Little Girl Fly Away (1998).
