Biography
Éric Cantona is a French actor and former professional footballer. Born in Marseille, he retired from football in 1997 and began acting the following year.
His screen credits include the role of Monsieur de Foix in Elizabeth (1998), Lionel in Happiness Is in the Field (1995), Jo Sardi in The Children of the Marshland (1999) and a lead part as himself in Looking for Eric (2009). He made his stage debut in 2010 in the play Face au paradis, directed by his wife Rachida Brakni. Later film roles include appearances in The Salvation (2014), AKA (2023) and The Killer (2024).
