Biography
Eric Close is an American actor and director. Born on 24 May 1967 in Staten Island, New York, he graduated with a B.A. in communications from the University of Southern California in 1989. He began his career with stage work and early film and television roles, including appearances in American Me (1992) and the soap opera Santa Barbara.
Close is known for his television roles as Martin Fitzgerald in Without a Trace (2002–2009), Michael Wiseman in Now and Again (1999–2000), Teddy Conrad in Nashville (2012–2018), and Travis Tanner in Suits (2011–2015). He has also appeared in films such as American Sniper (2014) and directed episodes of Nashville and Without a Trace, as well as several Hallmark television movies.
