Biography
Eric Coulter is a British television producer. Born in Glasgow in 1961, he began his career in the early 1980s as a unit runner on Bill Forsyth's Gregory's Girl. He worked as a location manager and assistant director on numerous films, commercials and music videos before becoming a producer in the mid-1990s.
Coulter produced the BBC2 series The Cops (also known as Stanton Blues), which won BAFTA TV Awards for Best Drama Series in 1998 and 1999. He later served as Head of Drama at STV, overseeing productions including Taggart, Rebus, High Times and Cracked. He left STV in 2009 and founded SurefireTV in 2010.
His later credits as producer or executive producer include Shetland, Our Girl, Bodyguard (2018) and Guilt. Bodyguard earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Drama Series.
