Biography
Eric Red (born Eric Joseph Durdaller) is an American screenwriter and director. He was born on 16 February 1961 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the AFI Conservatory in 1983.
His first produced feature screenplay was The Hitcher (1986). He co-wrote the screenplay for Near Dark (1987) with Kathryn Bigelow. Subsequent screenplays include Blue Steel (1990), The Last Outlaw (1993) and 100 Feet (2008).
Red has also directed several films, including Cohen and Tate (1989), Body Parts (1991) and Bad Moon (1996).
