Biography
Erika L. Johnson is a television writer and producer, also credited as Erika Graham. She has written episodes of The Penguin (2024), Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist (2024), The Good Lord Bird (2020), Queen Sugar (2016–2018), Being Mary Jane (2013–2015), Ugly Betty (2006–2010) and Without a Trace (2002).
She earned a BA in Film and Television from UCLA. After working as an assistant on Lost, she joined the Disney|ABC Writing Program and was staffed on Ugly Betty for two seasons, followed by three seasons on Being Mary Jane. She has also served as co-executive producer on The Penguin and The Good Lord Bird, and in producing roles on Queen Sugar, Shades of Blue and The Village.
Johnson is co-founder of Black Women Who Brunch, a network for Black women television writers that was featured in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2018 Women in Entertainment issue. She is a Southern California native based in Los Angeles.
