Biography
Erin Cressida Wilson (born 12 February 1964) is an American playwright and screenwriter. She attended San Francisco University High School and studied theatre at Smith College. She has taught playwriting and writing for performance at Duke University, Brown University and the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Wilson wrote the screenplay for Secretary (2002), adapted from a Mary Gaitskill story, for which she received the Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay. Her other screenplays include Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus (2006), Chloe (2009), Men, Women & Children (2014), The Girl on the Train (2016) and Snow White (2025). She was a writer and producer on the HBO series Vinyl (2016). She has also written numerous plays.
