Biography
Eriq Ebouaney is a French actor born on 3 October 1967 in Angers, Maine-et-Loire, France, the son of Cameroonian immigrants. He trained in commerce before turning to acting at around the age of 30, leaving a job as a sales manager to join a theatre company. His film debut came in 1996 in Cédric Klapisch's When the Cat's Away.
He gained prominence with the leading role of Patrice Lumumba in the 2000 film Lumumba. He appeared as Black Tie in Brian De Palma's Femme Fatale (2002) and has since taken supporting roles in films including Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Hitman (2007), Transporter 3 (2008), 3 Days to Kill (2014) and Bastille Day (2016), as well as the series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2023). He also featured in the 2025 film L2: Empuraan.
