Biography
Ernest Cline is an American novelist and screenwriter. He was born on 29 March 1972 in Ashland, Ohio.
Cline co-wrote the screenplay for the 2009 film Fanboys. His debut novel Ready Player One was published in 2011; he co-wrote the screenplay for its 2018 film adaptation directed by Steven Spielberg. He has also written the novels Armada (2015) and Ready Player Two (2020).
Before publishing fiction, Cline worked in information technology and performed as a slam poet, winning the Austin Poetry Slam in 1998 and 2001.
