Biography
Ernest Troost is an American composer, conductor and singer-songwriter. Born on 19 June 1953 in Connecticut, he studied jazz guitar and classical music at Berklee College of Music before moving to Los Angeles to work in film and television.
He composed the score for the 1990 film Tremors and is also credited on Dead Heat (1988), The Canterville Ghost (1996), Front of the Class (2008) and November Christmas (2011). Troost won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Miniseries, Movie or Special for The Canterville Ghost and received several further Emmy nominations. He has also released folk and Americana albums and won the Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk award in 2009.
