Biography
Ernst Sorge was a German cinematographer, geographer and polar explorer. He worked as a camera operator on Leni Riefenstahl’s two-part documentary Olympia (1938), including Olympia Part One: Festival of the Nations.
Sorge had earlier taken part in Greenland expeditions linked to the 1933 feature S.O.S. Eisberg, for which he contributed to the screenplay and provided consultation. He directed the short film Entstehung von Eisbergen an der Küste Grönlands (1939). Born in 1899, he died in 1946.
