Biography

Erwin Biswanger was a German actor and screenwriter. Born in Berlin on 26 November 1896, he entered the film industry in 1918 and appeared on stage, including at the Berlin Lessing Theater in the 1920/21 season.

He is known for supporting roles in Fritz Lang's silent films, playing Giselher in both parts of Die Nibelungen (1924) and the worker No. 11811, Georgy, in Metropolis (1927). His other acting credits from the 1920s include In Treue stark (1926). From the late 1930s he worked as a screenwriter on films such as In letzter Minute (1939).
