Biography
Eugene B. Stein is an American television writer and former network executive. He wrote episodes of the sitcoms Cheers (1989), The Golden Girls (1990), Doctor Doctor (1991), Murphy Brown (1992) and Duckman (1994).
Stein graduated from Yale University and the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. He held development roles at ABC Entertainment from 1987 to 1990 and later at CBS, where he served as vice president of comedy development until 2000. He has also published the novel Straitjacket and Tie (1994) and the short-story collection Touch and Go (1997).
