Biography
Evan Katz is an American television writer and producer. He began his career in 1990 as a writer and producer on the television film Archie: To Riverdale and Back Again, and subsequently wrote episodes of series including The Commish and JAG.
Katz is best known for his work on the series 24 (2001), where he contributed as a writer, teleplay writer and story writer across multiple seasons from 2002, and served as executive producer from season four. He also created and executive produced Special Unit 2 (2001), served as showrunner on The Event (2010), and co-created and showran 24: Legacy (2017) with Manny Coto. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006 for 24 and a Writers Guild of America Award for Episodic Drama in 2004 for a 24 episode.
