Biography
Evan Spiliotopoulos is a Greek-American screenwriter, film producer and director. Born in Greece, he graduated from high school there before moving to the United States. He earned an undergraduate degree in film theory from the University of Delaware and a master's degree in screenwriting from American University. He moved to Los Angeles in 1995, where his first industry role was as an intern on the television film Trial by Fire.
Spiliotopoulos wrote several animated films for Disneytoon Studios in the 2000s, including Pooh's Heffalump Movie (2005) and Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure (2009). His live-action credits include the screenplays for Hercules (2014), The Huntsman: Winter's War (2016) and Beauty and the Beast (2017, co-written with Stephen Chbosky). He received a story credit on Charlie's Angels (2019) and made his directorial debut with the horror film The Unholy (2021), which he also wrote and produced.
