Biography

Fabien Nury is a French comic book writer and screenwriter. He trained at ESCP Europe and began his career in advertising before moving into comics and screenwriting.

He is known for the graphic novel La Mort de Staline (2010–2012, with Thierry Robin), which was adapted into the 2017 film The Death of Stalin for which he wrote the screenplay. Other notable works include the historical series Il était une fois en France (2007–2012, with Sylvain Vallée), the noir series Tyler Cross (with Brüno), and screenplays for the film Les Brigades du Tigre (2006) and the television series Paris Police 1900 (2021), on which he also served as creator and director of one episode.

Nury has received awards including the Prix de la meilleure série at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 2011 for Il était une fois en France.
