Biography

Faith Brook (16 February 1922 – 11 March 2012) was an English actress who appeared in stage, film and television roles, frequently in upper-class or well-bred parts. Born in York, she was the daughter of actor Clive Brook and sister of actor Lyndon Brook. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and made her screen debut in an uncredited role as Alice Barham in Alfred Hitchcock’s Suspicion (1941).

Her early film work included The Jungle Book (1942). Later credits encompassed To Sir, with Love (1967) as Grace Evans, The Heroes of Telemark (1965), North Sea Hijack (1980) as the British Prime Minister, Eye of the Needle (1981), The Sea Wolves (1980), The Razor’s Edge (1984) and Mrs Dalloway (1997). She also appeared in television productions such as Miss Marple: They Do It with Mirrors (1991).
