Biography
Fana Mokoena is a South African actor born on 13 May 1971 in Kroonstad. He studied Theatre and Performance at the University of Cape Town and began his career in 1993 as a member of the Playhouse Theatre company. His television debut came in the 1994 film The Line.
Mokoena is known for his role as Thula in the series Yizo Yizo (1999), Dr Mandla Sithole in Generations (1999), and Jaws Bengu in The Lab (2006–2009). His film credits include General Bizimungu in Hotel Rwanda (2004), roles in Safe House (2012) and World War Z (2013), and Govan Mbeki in Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013).
