Biography
Félix 'Chango' Monti is an Argentine cinematographer born on 6 January 1938 in La Quiaca, Jujuy. He began working as a director of photography in the mid-1970s.
Monti has served as cinematographer on numerous Argentine and international productions. His credits include The Official Story (1985), Tangos, the Exile of Gardel (1985), The Journey (1992), The Secret in Their Eyes (2009) and The Weasel's Tale (2019). He has collaborated repeatedly with directors including Fernando Solanas, Luis Puenzo, María Luisa Bemberg and Juan José Campanella.
Both The Official Story and The Secret in Their Eyes won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Monti became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2016.
