Biography
Ferdinand Gottschalk was an English theatre and film actor. He was born in London on 28 February 1858 and died there on 10 November 1944.
He made his stage debut in Toronto in 1887 and appeared in numerous productions on Broadway as well as writing and producing plays. Gottschalk appeared in 76 films between 1917 and 1938, often in supporting roles.
His screen credits include Grand Hotel (1932), Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933), Les Misérables (1935) as Thenardier, and Cleopatra (1934).
