Biography
Fergus O'Brien is a British television director. He began his career as a documentary producer and director before moving into drama in 2016.
His drama credits include the BBC single dramas Against the Law (2017) and Mother's Day (2018), lead direction on series three of The A Word (2020), and episodes of Gentleman Jack series two (2022), Happy Valley series three (2023) and The Tourist series two (2024). He has also directed Tommy & Tuppence (2025).
Mother's Day won the Banff Rockie Award for Best Television Movie in 2019. O'Brien has received BAFTA nominations for his work.
