Biography
Fernando Bovaira is a Spanish film and television producer. He has maintained a long-term collaboration with director Alejandro Amenábar, producing films including The Others (2001), The Sea Inside (2004), Agora (2009), Regression (2015) and While at War (2019).
Bovaira studied law at the University of Valencia and business administration at Harvard, later training in film production in Boston. He began his career at Canal Plus Spain before founding MOD Producciones in 2007. His credits also include Biutiful (2010), Sex and Lucía (2001) and the series The Final Problem (2026). The Sea Inside won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
He received a BAFTA nomination for Biutiful and has been recognised with awards including the Palmera d'Honor at the Mostra de València.
